On October 11, 2013, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning letter to the manufacturer that this product is deemed to be adulterated because it contains a new dietary ingredient, aegeline, which lacks adequate information to provide reasonable assurance of safety. The manufacturer has failed to provide the FDA with evidence that this ingredient (also referred to as N-[2-hydroxy-2(4-methoxyphenyl) ethyl]-3-phenyl-2-propenamide) was safe for use in its dietary supplements (18946). The FDA findings also suggest that a causal connection may exist between the use of this product and a number of liver illnesses reported in Hawaii (18938).
On November 10, 2013, USPLabs, the manufacturer of this product issued a nationwide recall of this product (18951).
On November 15, 2013, Health Canada recalled this product due to reports of liver injury (19009). On November 16, 2013, this product was voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer because it found to be contaminated with aegeline, an agent which lacks adequate information regarding safety (19014). Advise people not to take this product.

This product has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
