On February 8, 2016, the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency warned that certain lots of this product were contaminated with toxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA) (91124). Exposure to PAs can cause hepatotoxicity and even severe veno-occlusive disease. Hepatotoxic PAs might also be carcinogenic and mutagenic (12841,12842). Advise patients not to take this product.
