Two Probiotic Strains Show Promise for Lowering Triglycerides

Results from a recent clinical trial suggest that taking two Lactobacillus probiotic strains, Lactobacillus curvatus (L. curvatus) HY7601 and Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) KY1032, for 12 weeks, reduces triglyceride levels by 20% and improves other measures of heart health in people with high triglyceride levels. The results were more prominent in people with higher fasting triglyceride levels.
