OTC Licorice Cough Syrup Contains Unidentified Morphine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers that Licorice Coughing Liquid, an over-the-counter cough syrup manufactured by Ma Ying Long Pharmaceutical Group in China, contains morphine. The presence of morphine is not identified on the product label. The FDA is warning consumers that serious allergic reactions or side effects might occur after taking this product, and advises that no one purchase or use this product. Licorice Coughing Liquid is distributed in the U.S. by Master Herbs USA, Inc.
