Omega-3s Might Prevent PTSD Symptoms

A new clinical trial shows that taking omega-3 fatty acids, including 1470 mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and 147 mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), daily for 12 weeks, keeps heart rate lower in accident survivors exposed to stress than those taking placebo. Increased heart rate is a prominent symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
