ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS Interaction Rating = Moderate Be cautious with this combination. Severity = Moderate •  Occurrence = Possible •  Level of Evidence = D Theoretically, chaga may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.  Details In vitro and animal research suggests that chaga extract can inhibit platelet aggregation (26260). This effect has not been reported in humans.

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS Interaction Rating = Moderate Be cautious with this combination. Severity = Moderate •  Occurrence = Possible •  Level of Evidence = D Theoretically, taking chaga with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.  Details Animal research suggests that chaga might decrease blood glucose levels and increase insulin levels (26253,111924,111925,111927). This has not been reported in humans.

IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS Interaction Rating = Moderate Be cautious with this combination. Severity = Moderate •  Occurrence = Possible •  Level of Evidence = D Theoretically, chaga might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.  Details In vitro research suggests that certain constituents of chaga stimulate immune function (26263). This has not been reported in humans.
