The FDA is advising consumers to throw away recalled dietary supplements containing imported moringa leaf powder, and the list of affected products continues to grow. As of June 30, 2026, the ongoing multistate outbreak has been linked to 119 illnesses and 32 hospitalizations across 36 states. 

Be aware that in recent years, moringa has surged in popularity as a “superfood,” with supplements touted to improve energy, gut healthy, skin conditions, and more.

Be alert for patients using or asking about these products and explain that the FDA investigation is ongoing. Advise avoiding products containing imported moringa leaf powder until this outbreak resolves.
