Magnesium Stearate, Gelatin, Red Dye #40
This product contains 1,3-dimethylbutylamine (DMBA), also known as AMP citrate and 2-Amino-4-Methylpentane. DMBA is an analogue to 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA), a synthetic stimulant that has been banned by the US Food and Drug Administration. There is no research assessing the safety of DMBA in patients, however some animal research suggests that DMBA has similar stimulant effects to DMAA (26231). DMAA can potentially increase blood pressure and increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular events. DMAA-containing products have been linked to over 40 serious adverse event reports including adverse cardiovascular, metabolic, nervous system, and psychiatric events. Reports of death have also occurred (17660,17663,17904,17906,17907,17908,17958). Advise patients not to take this product due to DMBA content.

LIKELY UNSAFE ...when used orally. 1,3-DMBA is thought to have stimulant and vasoconstrictive effects, which have been demonstrated in animal studies (24150,26231,100692). Clinical evidence on the safety of 1,3-DMBA is lacking; however, it has a similar structure to 1,3-DMAA, a synthetic stimulant that has been linked to serious adverse events, including lactic acidosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, and death (17599,17660,17662,17663,17904,94361,94369,94374).
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: LIKELY UNSAFE
when used orally.
1,3-DMBA is thought to have stimulant and vasoconstrictive effects (24150,26231,100692) which might increase the risk of serious adverse effects.

Theoretically, 1,3-DMBA might modestly increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
Details
In vitro research shows that 1,3-DMBA weakly inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes (91878).
|
Theoretically, combining 1,3-DMBA with other stimulant drugs might increase the risk of cardiovascular toxicity.
Details
Animal research shows that 1,3-DMBA has stimulant effects, such as increasing blood pressure and heart rate (24150).

General ...There is currently a limited amount of information available about the adverse effects of 1,3-DMBA. However, the closely related chemical 1,3-DMAA has been linked to serious adverse effects in humans, including lactic acidosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, and death.
